Default Comparable jeep replacement

Got that pentastar tick getting it fixed but I would like a vehicle that will last without any major problems such as engine issues. I've had this rubicon for less than a year. What are some compairable vehicles out there. I've been looking at the Xterra, Tacoma, FJ and Frontier, My 1st car was a lifted 2001 pathfinder with 32's on it and it was very reliable but the pathfinder has become a crossover. I cannot get over how ugly the FJ cruiser is even if it is the closest thing out there to a jeep and I've been looking at other American trucks but the fact that they don't come in stick is a deal breaker. Any advice or should I just suck it up with the jeep and hope it doesn't break down the road

Once you get this tick fixed, you'll be fine. It's really been the only major problem with the >2012 wranglers.

X2 on this. Any time you buy a vehicle in the first year of an updated design, there tend to be some bugs that need worked out. That's why they have a warranty.

In the last decade, I've owned a 2nd gen Xterra, 4th gen 4Runner, 5th gen 4Runner, Tacoma, 07 Tundra, and a TJ. The XTerra and both 4Runners were pretty capable off road, way better on road, more comfortable, and much quicker than a TJ, and most of that holds true relative to a JK. Having said that, none of those vehicles would go where a TJ or JK could. Also, the cost of modding a non-jeep can be significantly more expensive. I'll probably get a JKU and keep the 4Runner as well; Jeeps are just more fun.

There is some truth to the idea there is Jeep and the rest. It comes down to what you want and need.

You'll find nothing you can take the top off of AND travel on terrain that wasn't meant to be traveled on...keep the Jeep, you'll be glad you did.
