I was on 4x4 rock shop looking around and came across a computer tuner that cost 600 $$$ and claims to give you a 38.5% HP gain and 36.8 more torque.

do you think this is just a normal exaggeration or has anyone used this and would swear by it?. just seems like a lot of money

it's a Unichip Tuner box. i thought that was a large increase in HP and torque for a little computer.

would love to hear what you guys think.

 

I call BS on those claims. No way a programmer is going to give you that much increase. Maybe a little more HP and some more torque but not much.

 

The only way I would believe it is to see some dyno results done by someone not affiliated with the tuning company.

 

If it really did what they claimed, we'd all have one.

 

But if it did what the claimed, it would come from the factory that way. We wouldn't need one!

Exactly...need a factory turbo vehicle to get some crazy gains.....Diesel trucks like you say get insane numbers with STACKABLE programers....seen over 1000HP and +1200lb/ft of torque with the CTD 12V & 24V and blowing doors off exotics at the drag strip.


Save the money!!! The salesman's is shovelling some smelly manure in regards to Unichip programmer. Or save the money and add a supercharger or get the Hemi mod.

 

Well, it says "Up to" 38.5%, which is 79 hp gain.
If it gave 1 hp gain, that would fall in the range of "Up to".
The advertisement is correct, then.

I still dont believe them at all, why claim up to 38% when they show no where near that, I think for haha's I'm going to email them
