Anybody out there had any vandalism done to their JK? Mine has had it twice at two places 35 miles apart. In early February I was at a wal-mart parked at the front door in a handicapped spot (I have a valid permit). The parking lot light was directly overhead. Some JERK walked by and punched a dent in my hood directly in front of my left hood hinge. Yesterday I'm at a Cracker Barrel restaurant and someone keys the hell out of my left rear softtop window. I never had any problem in 13 years with my last jeep but this yellow Unlimited brings the a-holes out of the woodwork... I'm thinking of changing my license plate to 9mm or .45 auto.LOL

 

That sucks. I lived in an apartment when I had my TJ (public lot parking) and someone thought it would be funny to punch the top of the hood, fortunately it was barely noticeable and I was able to get most of it out. God forbid that happened on the thin sheetmetal of the JK though. Have a house w/ garage now though so I'll just have to watch out for the store parking lots I guess.

 

I HATE TO HEAR OF YOUR MISFORTUNE. IT'S GETTING PRETTY BAD HERE IN GEAORGIA AS WELL WITH ALL OF THE GROWTH COMING FROM THE GHETTO AND FLOWING INTO THE COUNTRY SIDE OF TOWN. I'M IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND I WISH SOMEONE WOULD GIVE ME A GOOD REASON, AFTER THEY LEAVE THE HOSPITAL, ITS BEHIND BARS.

 

I had my stock tires slashed by an (EX dishwasher) @ work. He was an a-hole and didn't like getting his hours cut for sub standard job performance.
Aside from that I leave my glove box unlocked as well as the center console when going topless. I keep NOTHING in either storage compartment. My Sig Sauer .40 goes in my briefcase with my laptop.

The only Item I leave in the center console is a NOTE written with a sharpie that reads;

"DRIVER CARRIES A GUN AND A SHOVEL @ ALL TIMES! YOU WON'T BE MISSED!"

:o HAHAHA I thought I was the only one with a note in my console. I got a similiar note in mine. My JK has a Mg-34 antiaircraft mount set up in the back with the rear seat out (so I can shoot my mg34 and browning 1919a4 adapted to it at the range easily). so when they look in the note says "That greenish "thing" you are looking at right behind the console is my heavy machine gun mount. You dont want to know what I carry on my person if I come back and catch you in my jeep"

here's a theory.....
'bout 2-3 yrs ago, a lot of hummers were getting vandalized nation-wide. It has tapered off some but.... Apparently, some tree-huggers felt this vehicle was a gas-sucking, tree killing representation of "the man".
Now because most people often confuse your 4-dr with a hummer (sorry but it's true), you might be getting targeted. I heard that two groups called ELF and ALF were posting crazy stuff on their websites calling on people to carry out these acts.

Don't know what to say about the second time, but DAMN you were at WALMART!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you seen what the people there look like. And I'm not cracking wise either. I wouldn't park mine at Walmart or anywhere near it. Unfortunately, its clientel of low income bargain hunters are poppin out offspring that steal our stuff and key our rigs.

 

This tread just reminded me, the next day its over 50 I need to put my NRA sticker on the back window. I have been forgetting.

The lazy, inconsiderate pieces of sh!t don't like to walk far, so parking at the far reaches of the lot is fairly effective method for avoiding them, regardless of store and clientele. It also offers the bonus of putting your vehicle all by its lonesome, usually near a road, so potential a$$holes are highly visible to multiple witnesses.
