He does realize he picked the wrong Rubicon term, right? It's named after the trail, not the river.

And who is to say that the trail was not named after the river. After all the river was a river before the trail became a trail

My favorite line is "The Jeep is a manly device. And a womanly device. An American device. It’s a fitting instrument to transport the free people of a free nation with the respect to which we are entitled and the dignity that we deserve."

I know I ditched what used to be my DD for my JK which certainly wasn't my original intention.

Default The hell with point A and B

Cars are our way of moving through life. Cars are an integral manifestation of our being. Cars are an expression of who we are, like clothes. But we can drive naked, so the hell with clothes.

I think the point was that many folks will not realize that there is a Rubicon 4WD trail, but most of us have heard of Caesar crossing the Rubicon.

The Jeep is a manly device. And a womanly device. An American device. It’s a fitting instrument to transport the free people of a free nation with the respect to which we are entitled and the dignity that we deserve. Okay, we’re a little crazy to have a Jeep for a daily driver. But if we go off our meds, we might wind up in a Prius.

ZZZING!

I've been around that off ramp near South Bend, and it is a tricky little curve!!! too fast and you need one of those stickers that say, "If you can read this, flip me over"!!!
Nice read...

I really like that article.

I have a lot of discussions about my Jeep, people are jealous. Had one guy say "Well that looks a helluva lot more fun to drive than my car".

I tell people, we spend a lot of times on the road, running kids here, running kids there, going to work, going places for work, etc. Most people hate getting into their cars and going somewhere. Me, I love going places, I love driving, I love my Jeep, it makes me happy to see it, it makes me happy to sit in it, it makes me happy to drive down the road in it, it makes my giddy when the freedom top/top/doors are off of it. A lot of people, especially men, have a "dream car", most will never have it. I can honestly say that my "dream car" is not a car, it is MY Jeep. If I won $125 million in the lottery tonight, I would still drive what I am driving today, with a few enhancements!

A good friend of mine, owns his own company, partners in another, does very well for himself, has 5 kids. They are old enough that they don't have to have multiple SUV's to haul them around anymore, and he is thinking about a 2door Jeep. He looked at mine and when I was telling him about a lot of this above, he had that look in his eyes, like a kid in a candy store, I'm sure I had the same look.

Jeep is truly a Way of Life. Most people really don't understand.
