Default Cranks when starting it.

When starting My 2000 jeep wrangler it cranks 5-7 seconds before it actually starts. It had the whole fuel system redone and the ignition switch it's been to four different mechanics & still the same probable. Any suggestions?

My 07 does this sometime too. Not realy to worried as long as it starts. Think that there is a TSB on this. Just an FYI. The key switch works like a push-button start. You do not have to hold the key in the start position. Once the ignition sequence is started, you can let go of the key. This is normal opperation. But it should start after a rev or two.

It use to just do it every once on awhile but it's getting worse. I'm afraid it's going to mess up my starter or something else. It always starts, it just sounds bad when starting it.

Well give it a couple of days and it will quit. And then a few months later you can go through the cycle again. Jeeps are so much fun.
