D Status...urgent help needed!
To make along story short I ordered my JK just over 3 months ago. Initially I orderd a 6 speed, but changed the order about 6 days later to an automatic. My sales guy said he would take care of it and just sell off the 6 speed to someone else when it arrived.
Fast forward to yesterday. I talk to my sales guy and he has good news....says my Jeep will be here in 3 weeks, so I should put my current vehicle up for sale. I got the order number, and vin number and speak to DC today to find out I'm in D Staus, with a "firm Date" (whatever that means). The porblem is...this is for the 6 speed. When I spoke to my dealer about it the said they don't have a record of me ordering an auto. And of course my sales guy is on holidays right now. The manager said he will try to call DC and have the order changed to an automatic, but says that takes a few days, and is not a guarantee. He also said if he cant change it, they will give me my money back, and I can try to order an '08 in a month or so.
Does anyone have suggestions? Can I speak to someone at DC and have it changed or is their anything else I can do? I'd really prefer the auto.
Thanks for any suggestions....I'm really short on time here.

I would get killed in Taxes coming down there to get one...not to mention isn't there a long wait there as well?
I spoke to DC Canada today, and they said I need to get the owner of the dealership to call as it is out of their hands. I tried to get him on the phone, but I'm sure he's too busy to worry about my silly problem.
Does anyone know if they build the auto's and manuals in groups?

This is why you trust no one... especially sales folks. Get everything in writing!!! Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but basically... you got screwed. :whoaisme: Can you drive a 6 speed, or are you totally apposed to owning a stick? I hope you find a way around your problem. Good Luck!!!
yes, I can drive a 6 speed, but would prefer a auto as I so a lot of city driving. Besides I thinjk offroading would be easier with the auto.
I spojke to the owner of the dealership today, and he basically told me that he send out an email to DC. He says there is a good chance he can change it to an auto.....he estimated 70 percent that it will be changed.....but it still doesn't make me feel better.
My sales guy is too eager to give me my money back and let me order elsewhere. I got employee pricing so I know hes not making much money on it. I'm sure he'd love to sell my Rubi to someone off the street for full price.

Always remember one thing: "Buyers are liars and sellers are worse..."
Case in point, my sales guy insisted that the Jeep I wanted was in D1 status and "will be delivered any day." When I called DC, they said it was only in D status, with no firm build date... When I called and emailed my sales guy about it, he never bothered calling me back... Go figure...
