German Parts+Labour are EXPENSIVE!

We have had 4 VW's and for a 30,000 KM service for a Jetta is $400.

A friggen Cabin air filter is $100.

My dad bought a ML350 brand new in 2003. Everything was fine, until the second the 50k mile warranty expired. His seat caught fire (with him in it) because of the heater in the cushion, the AC went kaput, and some other things went wrong. Total damage was about $3000. Because the warranty hadn't been expired for even 1000 miles when all this happend, the dealership agreed to knock the price down to $1200. I don't know what all this means for Jeep, but it sucks for my dad.

Ex. Jeep Kaiser M715. Does this mean Jeep has been half German since the 60's?
Kaiser was for Kaiser Motors.
