Default Damn my windshield!

Well, I received my first war wound on my new 08 Sahara

I was driving on the highway and a big ass rock cracked my windshield...I had to make a detour and pay $85 to make sure it doesnt get any bigger.

Oh well, serves me right for driving down the highway....I guess i need to find some trails!!!!!!

Was there a truck in front of you? If there was one, you should have got the company name and truck number... We (truck drivers) blamed for that very often, company picks up the bill for the windshield.

I had to have the windshield replaced in my 05 3/4T 4x4 Dodge in the first month I owned it. I don't keep track. But, I know I've had more than a 1/2 doz Jeep winshields replaced in the last 25 years. It's a sacrifice for better viewing ability

better viewing ability than what?

when i first started test driving JK's one of the first differences i noted was the significantly decreased field of view compared to the car i traded in!

Better than looking through a nicked up windshield. First chip yesterday at 370 miles.

Well I am glad to hear I am not the only one to have bad luck with these windshields! 2 days must be the magic number!

Thank god for $0 deductible!

Had my Rubi one week and one day. Yesterday a small rock flew up from a truck tire on the highway and made a small crack noise; not even very loud. But there it is, a star crack. After reading so many posts about this I was wondering if it's worth getting it fixed now or waiting until I get more. 90% of my driving is on the highway

let them go fellows, I put 9 windshields in 13 years in my YJ. The JK should be a little more durable with a little curve to the windshield. That doesn't make it any easier when you get a chip ! It sure wears the new off quickly......

2 TJs over the past 3 years and not one chip in either windshield. 1 JK took less than 20 days and 370 miles to get it's first chip. First time I was on the highway about 20 minutes into the ride. Same highway I drove on hundreds of times with my TJ.
