Can someone explain the dealer allocation process and how I might learn whether/when my dealer will have allocation available for the Jeep I am interested in?

I am ordering an 08 Rubicon Unlimited/6 Speed/Hard Top at a very very good price. But if this dealer won't be able to get me to "D" status for months on end due to allocation issues on their end, I'd rather know that now so that I can negotiate at a different dealer if necessary. Thanks
