Default Dealer invoice on 2010 JK?

I got an email from a local dealer offering dealer invoice on new 2010 in stock. Is this a decent deal, or just average?

I've been looking at buying a 2010 also. From my understanding, they are probably still making money from the sale because they will get the "dealer holdback" from Chrysler.

The dealer hold back on a Jeep vehicle is 3% of the MSRP. Once the vehicle is sold, Chrysler will give the dealership a check for 3% of the vehicle's MSRP. It's a hidden profit for the dealer.

In short, I think it's a good deal.

Mind if I ask what the invoice price was and what trim level/options?

I'm currently looking to buy a sport with the customer perfered package 24S and power options.

Hey, I just bought a 2010 jk sport 6-speed with the power optioms and the hardtop. The sticker was $28,810. I paid $24,410. I felt I did ok, I also got the $500. Mopar bucks from jeep for the accessories. The sales man told me to go on his computer and look at accessories online to keep me occupied while he ran around.......

So of course I started looking at his files and his notes, I came across my name and our "deal" we had been working over the phone. I opened the file and saw that the salesmans notes said "working a $2k deal" so the dealership was still holding $2k profit at my sale price of. $24,410. So I know the invoice on the $28,810. Was around $22k and change.

So on the 2010 sports with power package there holding about $6k profit on full sticker. It was easy getting $4k off in may. Now that the 2011 are coming out and it's June, $5k off sticker should be your goal...... But try for $6k.... They still have hold back.

PM me if you have any questions or need more insight.

Good luck and make them earn every penny!!!

Good info to have. Thanks. Most of the JK's I've been looking at have an MSRP of $26,900.

I paid 1% below last March and it was out the door, no silly paperwork fees etc.

My dealer was very good about it.

What I did learn from dealing with another dealer is that they will try every trick in the book.

It amazes me that after the big hit the big 3 took these last few years, some are still trying to pull fast ones, instead of building a loyal base with honesty... which I why I walked away and went to the dealer I bought mine from.

Also worth noting is do research on that invoice price. Often times it will be quoted by a dealer as X when a little bit of research shows it is really X minus a few hundred.

Good Luck

I paid $28500ish in Sept. 07' for an 08' Rubi 2dr, 6spd, dual top and power windows. This was before the recession hit.

I picked my Sahara up for just under 28K (sticker was 33K+) in January. VERY happy with the JK, the deal and the dealer.

A few weeks ago I got a 2010 Sport without power options but with AC for 19,500 not including tax. Not sure how much the extra power groups are.
