Dealer question
If I were to order a JK from the factory, does the dealership it goes to effect it's delivery time? Would it be better to deal with a dealer that sells a lot of JK's as opposed to a smaller dealer, or does it not matter?
I would say, yes it matters. Dealers are only allocated so many vehicles per month from the manufacturer. My order was submitted to the factory over two weeks AFTER I put a deposit on it. When I asked the dealer WTF? He told me about dealer allocations. So, I may have gotten the Jeep a few weeks faster had I gone to a higher volume dealer. So you may want to ask your dealer if they have the allocation to submit the order NOW.
Thanks. I guess I will be dealing with the dealer a little further from home, then. They always seem to be getting a lot of new stock in. As soon as I sell my Harley, I will place my order. I guess since i have waited this long, a few more weeks wont kill me.
Allocation will matter. Don't give up on finding one in one of the dealerships out there. Your favorite local dealer may be able to do a dealer trade and get you what you want without the waiting. You can search inventory from the Jeep website (configure, search, new search, advanced, and then specify the miles).
Thanks, tgrt. I have worn out that Jeep finder function since discovering it (about the same time I found this sight...) I have yet to find a wht Rubi with only a hard top/block heater/slushbox and nothing else. Thats why I think I will have to order. That is unless a dealer wants to take stuff off or not charge me for it. I would rather keep it as basic as possible.
