Default Dealership hypocrisy?

So decided to stop by a local dealer and check out some lifted, used JK's which left me kinda irked. Though some dealerships are cool with mods we all know the horror stories of voided warranties etc. With that being said the JKs I looked at all had 4" lifts with no driveline or gear changes sitting on 37s, they even had a 37" tire on the OEM spare tire carrier. Just kinda rubbed me the wrong way since I would speculate that a "Jeep" dealership should know that these changes could lead to vehicle damage well knowing that if a person did these specific mods themselves resulting in damage a dealer would most likely fight it. Thoughts?

I have had this conversation with our local dealer who does the same stuff. He says basically as long as its MOPAR parts then the dealer will cover those under warranty. But say you bend your little D30 because of 37s, or you tear a driveshaft boot because of a MOPAR 4 inch lift, then they won't cover it because they didn't do aything to the axle or driveshaft specifically . Its terrible reverse circular logic, but that's how they think.

I had my Jeep in for oil change last month. The TOB had recently blown up and I had it replaced at AAMCO.

I did bring it up with the Service Advisor just to see if MOPAR would cover my bills. He said TOB is only 12,000 mile warranty. But he did look at my jeep with lift and 35's and said MOPAR probably would not have covered it anway. I was like why not?? What do tires and lift have to do with a TOB ?? He said that is true but MOPAR probably would have reviewed the claim.

I then asked him about all of the Dealer lifted rigs out in the parking lot. I asked him if those are warrantied or would MOPAR question a repair because of mods. He told me that MOPAR could question and deny a repair even though the dealer installed the lifts, afermarket rims and oversized tires on a brand new Jeep.

I wonder if they tell their customers that before they sell it to them!

There is a jeep dealership in Boulder Co called TrailJeeps. This an AEV dealership. They said when you buy a jeep new from them they will honor the warranty. Doesn't matter what lift, tires, or v8 conversion. They will still honor the warranty, so you could add to your hearts content! I did however ask if the warranty would be honored by other jeep dealerships. They said if the dealership is a reputable dealership they should. I live in Nebraska, but have heard horror stories from a couple jeep owners in the area about ours. I would love to have a new lifted jeep, but it seems like a huge gamble. My dealership doesn't even stock jeeps, so I would have to order one. Not sure how they would take it (or honor my warranty) if I bought a jeep from a different dealership, and then tried to have my local dealership work on it.
