Is this the death of the 2 DOOR?
I don't think it will happen. However, the 2dr's on the local dealers lot are not moving. The rubicons seem to do fine but the x models just sit and sit and sit. I think the 4dr craze will slow and the 2drs will do well again.
My local dealer has sold several 4drs over the phone to people in other states. They are amazed that people will call up giving them credit card numbers to pay in full without even looking at the jeep first.

not a chance. a lot of the people buying four doors are two-door jeepers, with families now, and the others were people wanting to be jeepers, but were had family restrictions. there will always be us terminally single SWB guys, or the people that hold out and say "you know what? i'm going to be buried with my jeep, we'll get you a prius"
i've been the latter, hence now i am the former.

No kids in the future.. no need for a 4 door.

I hope not.
Had a CJ for years before wife and kids. Even after the wife and kids I was always talking about how I missed the Jeep and if I had my Jeep we could do this or go there. So I have been planning on getting another Jeep once the kids were older and perhaps driving their own vehicles I could go back to enjoying driving again. When Jeep came out with the 4dr. I no longer had to wait. I can still take the kids and the neighbors to school in the mornings and the wife has the convertible that she has always wanted.
But I tell you once we get to a point where hauling kids is nolonger the top priority in what we drive, I will go back to a 2dr., of course by then no telling what kind of vehicle Jeep will be producing.
I am lucky that the new Camaro isn't out yet though, my wife had a 69 convertible and we have been back and forth as to which rag top would be the first one we purchased.
