I thought about this today and was wondering about All these different Death wobble scenerios. Im just curious how many Fellow JK owners Had Death Wobble with:
1. A stock X model
2. A lifted X model
3. A stock Sahara
4. A lifted Sahara
5. A stock Rubicon
6. a lifted Rubicon
7. Or never at all

Im just wondering if it is more prone to certain models than others. I want to see if there is some sort of pattern.

Mine started on my stock 2008 X with 6000 miles. Upgraded to 17" Moabs and it went away. Installed Rusty's 3.25" lift while still running Moabs with the SR-A's and jeep was undrivable due to death wobble. Finally installed bigger shoes and haven't had it in over a year and a half. That's my death wobble story.

Was your stock tires the goodyear wranglers? That was my issue. I purchased 17 inch cragars and 285 70 17s and the problem completely went away

The only thing I'm thinking is that there are probably more X/Sport models on the road than Sahara's or Rubicon's--not sure, but guessing. So that makes me think the poll might not be a true indicator.

After some great info on here and getting underneath, my DW was from a bad bushing on the stock track bar. I replaced my track bar with an adjustable, upgraded my Steering Stabilizer and just got new tires which are freshly balanced and all seems good now. I do need to replace my ball joints, but I don't think that has been an issue as they are not real bad yet, but there is some slop in them.

I only times I have gotten the death wobble in my Jeep (Stock, 2dr, '07, X) have been when I have had a full truckload of people and things brought along, ONLY on the highway directly after hitting a pothole or a slight bump caused by weather or possible tree roots... I got the death wobble at least 10 times this passed January moving back up to school with my stuff packed in it with my friend and all his stuff packed in too... yet again, on the highway going ~60+. Other than that, I rarely get the DW. It's very scary though when It happens...

EDIT: I have the stock 17 inch wheels with the stock Goodyear Wrangler SR-As on them.

If you have gotten it that much, then be sure to check everything in the front end as something may be damaged or broken.
