I was told how to get into 4lo by the dealer and I think I read it in the manual...however in some haste on my first wheeling run I tried to yank it down into lo while in gear...that is not a sound I want to hear again...then i remembered to drop it into neutral!

About sand...so are you guys saying to run on sand in 2wh until you need 4? I plan on hitting an ORV dune park now that I have a rig and I guess I assumed I would use 4hi the whole time accept for climbing...I might need to consider that ESP mod. Also when I was doing some hill climbs on trails last weekend I never changed out of drive once in 4lo but I made it up...when in drive and 4lo will the transmission still try and shift alot? I know low is not meant for high speed but should I have been using 1st or 2nd gear?

I'd like to know also.

I'm planning on a beach trip to the Outer Banks in the next few weeks. I've never run on sand before. All I know is to air down and take a shovel and some wood planks.

When driving thru Silver Lake sand dunes I use 4lo and overdrive for hill climbing and 2wd for everything else! just depends on the mood. make sure you air down to atleast 15psi then test it out. I stop completely put it in neutral then into 4lo.
