Did you get 4x4 or 2WD
I agree that Jeeps are true 4x4s however with out the option of 4x2 jeep was headed the same direction that Internationl, Scout II, did in the eighties. Jeep had to broaden there line of vehicles to grab a greater share of the buying public. Personally I want them to stay around. As far as 4x2's Jeep offered a 4x2 CJ-7 in the mid seventies and discontinued them do to lack of buyers.
I welcome anyone 4x4 or 4x2 to this forum. By the way the 4x2 owners ay later wish they had a 4x4. This country was founded with the fredom to choose. Papabear

Jeeps has had 4X2's in the past, get the hell over it.
I personally own a 4X2 jeep, It never see's the dirt, so who gives two shits about having 4 wheel drive if your not going to use it.
As long as you own a Jeep . I'll wave eitherway.

Most people that buy 4x4 never even put them in 4 wheel drive. I only put my YJ in 4 wheel drive when it snows or I go out on trails. So people that put down the 4x2 should just accept it for what it is. Are they not going to wave just because they dont see a Trail Rated Badge. By then its too late anyways. Thats not a Jeep kind of thing.
I am always amused as to how discrimination can exist everywhere - religion, skin color - and now how many jeep axles.
People always feel 'comfortable' in the majority and when the majority look down on the minority.
2 WD or 4 WD both look great and both have great qualities. The 2 WD will get much better MPG and it costs less. The 4 WD is great off road.
The poll is also bias calling the 2 WD a 'Soccor Mom' car.
Funny, I live in Los Angeles, and I assure you that the Rubicon will be the Soccor Mom car, not the 2WD.
Peace out...

And unfortunately, someone already read my frau onto the "Just Empty Every Pocket" acronym. I guess there are "Jeep Widows" out there?
I've been in this "community" for two weeks and it's already addictive....
Merry Christmas....from the 757....
Got it. You don't like the 4x2 Wrangler business decision and question the masculinity/humanity of those who purchase this option.
Got it. We hear you. You've made your point quite succinctly. You win.
Move on.
Cheers, from the 757.
I can't see getting all bent out of shape over the 2wd thing. If you don't care for it then DON'T BUY ONE! If you never use 4wd but you like the looks/ convertable top or rugged ride, then it just makes sense to go 2wd. If everyone made decisions based on pure logic, our cars would be alot smaller with less horsepower, and trucks would only exist for constuction.
If you:
a) don't live where it regularly snows and/or experiences ice storms a fair amount of time in the winter
b) don't ever plan to take your Jeep JK anywhere where 4x4 is a requirement, not a suggestion
Then getting the 4x4 over a 4x2 is possibly a dumb financial choice.
It would cost you more upfront
It would likely cost you some in gas mileage
The loss on trade in value may not be that substantial due to part a) as one may think
I personally could not see getting a Jeep JK without it, but for a fun, top down concrete cruiser only, why not?
