Default Dirty Dog vs Safari Straps netting

wasnt sure where to post this, so MODS, feel free to move.

i had the COP4x4 nack on my 2 door and loved it, but i cant really justify the price tag, when i only used the nack to carry luggage once or twice, and now i have more room for this in my 4 door.

im looking for feedback on the safari straps cargo netting vs the dirty dog. what do you like/dislike about yours? easy to access the "trunk" area? does it fit tight and not flap in the wind? hows fitment? durability(fraying and fading)/how long have you had it? i would be getting the version that covers the whole jeep. thanks

Just took a look at the Dirty Dog netting. I have their sunscreen and love it. I have the Safari Straps 3 piece rear for my JK and love it. Quality is great and Hatch (company owner I think) is great to deal with.

I'd be interested to actually see how the the Dirty Dog attaches at the rear tailgate. It's not visible with the soft top down in the picture shown. The version of safari straps that I have actually attaches to bar where the soft top window goes and looks great when the top is not in place. When the top is on or on and down I simply unhook the 3 hooks that go onto the bar. I also prefer the Safari strap style without the grommets the DD has personally.

I think both are likely to be good quality based on the DD sunscreen, but since I actually have the Safari Straps I'm going to recommend them. I much prefer them to the "Nack" as those straps for my taste were way too wide and I never planned to carry my stuff on the outside of my JK so using it for it's intended purpose wasn't ever going to happen.

No fraying, fading, etc and I left mine on year round, until I finally had to load up the rear of the JK with the hard top on all the way to the back glass. I could have simply undone the straps and rolled it around the rear bar where it attaches, but I actually wanted the extra 3" of space. Really well put together product.

Edit: I don't dislike a single thing about the Safari Straps (since I just noticed that part).

I'm fully satisfied with the safari straps. They hold up great without fraying and within a years use under the Florida sun there seems to be no fading.

Only thing I don't like about mine (Safari Straps) is they seem to hang down a little and drag on the top of my head. I bought a fiberglass bow (for keeping the rain from collecting on the top). Haven't installed it yet, but otherwise Safari Straps makes a very good quality product.

Be aware there are a couple of downsides to installing straps. Definitely harder to fold the top half way back. I'm running 37" and I'm 6'3" and it is hard to reach up and fold the top properly. For that matter it is harder to put the top back on also.

Second it is much harder to see out the back/sides with them. Just ask the yamadog crotch rocket I knocked over a couple of weeks ago! Only cost me 4 Ben Franklin's to repair the damage.

I had the Safari Straps on my TJ for a few years and they were perfect! Hatch and Maral (Yes they are Owners) and very nice to work with. I plan on ordering there Nets for my JK before summer time.
