Do I wave at a Gladiator?
Its obvious that the Gladiator is not a Wrangler. But when driving on a two lane road, it sure looks like a JL approaching me - so I wave. This also happens visa versa. Where a Gladiator will wave at me. Which tells me they either still own or traded in their Wrangler, so the 'wave' is still 2nd nature.....I'm so confused -lol
How much are you paying for those waves? Mine are free, so I dispense liberally. I don't worry if it's returned or not, I don't worry what other people think. I just wave.

I don't see why you're confused. It's a sense of community. Are you part of the community or are you too snoody to be part of it? If you find yourself in the latter group, then no, you probably don't wave. If that's the case then you're probably missing out on a large part of what makes the community what we have- camaraderie.
I wave to everyone. All the wranglers and any chrokee, grand cherokee, liberty or hell an FJ or 4runner who looks like they get out in the mud or rocks. I like when the soccer moms wave back at me. Maybe they had no idea this was a thing when they bought their arctic white jku but enough knuckleheads have waved at them that they just started waving back. It's about acknowledging the people in the community and dragging the rest in at every opportunity.
My dad just picked up an '06 WJ. He asked if he had to wave to all the jeeps now. I told him he certainly didn't have to. Then he asked if they'd be waving at him. I told him it was unlikely in a bone stock grand cherokee. Then he asked how he could get everyone to wave at him. Which made me think a bit, I wave to the grand cherokee around here with a lift and big tires and no doors in the summer. I know that's not my dad though so I tried to nail down what would make me notice his rig and wave. He wants to drive on the beach with it and he just strapped on some new KO2s. I told him to add a roof rack to carry a shovel and some max tracks, things that would probably be helpful for beach adventuring and that would probably be enough to score some waves. I respect a dad in a WJ with a handful of practical mods and gear because he probably uses the thing like a jeep. That's enough for a wave from me.

Now that my Jeep is no longer my DD, I still wave at all wranglers and gladiators, and a few other Cherokees and what not even though I'm in an F-150. It's south Texas, so a lot of people wave at everybody. Jeeps get a big wave though. Sometimes I get funny looks, sometimes they recognize me as the dude with the Dune Jeep and give a big wave before I even get a chance to. It's all good.
"When your cable company keeps you on hold, you get angry ... when you get angry, you don't wave at other Jeeps ... when you don't wave at other Jeeps, people think you're tough ... when people think you're tough, they want to see how tough ... and when people want to see how tough, you wake up in a roadside ditch. Don't wake up in a roadside ditch."
So, get rid of cable and upgrade to waving at Jeeps.
