I have 179k on my 08. Never had an engine problem. I figure at some point past 200k in a year or two I would get a new vehicle. I don't want a car payment but kinda want a Raptor or another Jeep. Just not sure yet. The raptor comes with a big price tag lol so there goes no car payments.

OP,

I like mine so much that I’d be interested in your drivetrain if you decide to do the swap, particularly if you have a 6 speed. Mine’s running great at 179K miles now but I’ll assume some day I’ll need to replace it. I’m somewhat local so I’m serious. Keep me in mind!

Maybe it’s the Jeep gods, but the day I created this thread, two people in 2 days chatted me up about my Jeep, my mods and what me and my family do with it.

cant wait to get thru the quarantine and get it to the beach!

any more folks love their High Mileage JK?

here’s mine:

The second that border is back open I'm gone.....I know the feeling. Can't wait for this to be over.

2008 JKU 6 speed manual. Still banging along. I bought it new and still have the lifetime warranty in effect. Last time I took it in for an oil leak they did the valve covers, water pump, something else can't remember... don't care. They handed me the keys and I drove off. No charge. This thing should be in the garage when I die.

2008 auto with 94k on it. Did valve covers, oil pan gasket and water pump, trans filter which was a pleasure to do lol. Yes it’s a slow dog right now with 35” tires on a 15” wheel. I do have 5.13 gears and an arb front locker and rear trutrac waiting to go in along with some other crap. Unfortunately my cousin who does gears is stuck in Georgia as he was supposed to come up and give me a hand. I have a lot of time into raptor lining the inside and dealing with rust underneath which seems to be a non stop battle in the northeast here. No fancy stereo as it gets rained on but I do have heated seats and a hidden wireless phone charger in the dash for creature comforts lol.

I have a 2008 4dr unlimited X. Running 35s with 4.88s and a 6 speed tranny. It's my weekend warrior and i only have 40,000 miles on her. I guess the 3.8 is ok...it gets me where i want to go and i haven't had any major issues with it. Maybe one day a 5.7 swap. I want to buy an off road teardrop, but weight seems to be an issue. Not to mention I keep adding heavy mods to it. In summary...i love my jeep, just wish it was a V8.

09 with close to 190k on it. I hate the engine, but I will wait. I will be doing an engine swap sometime maybe next year. I want to stick to my manual so I am thinking of swapping to 3.9 HO with maybe a super charger from 505 Performance. 5.3 and above are too expensive to do and harder for a manual trans.
