Lot of ppl out there just like how it looks.
If you look at mine its a no brainer, there is scratches down the side, the tires don't ever get black no matter how many washes, just a dull mud color. My rims and tires are all rock rashed. Steps are all beat up, it rattles and squeaks, and seems to always have a mild swamp odor to her......
But yes there are ppl who spend as much cash as we do just to go pick there son up from school, or run out and get milk, and the only offroading they do is when they cut their driveway too close and hit the lawn a bit.....oh well, to each his own.

Its not that dumb...i dont take my rig offroading...at all just dunes and beaches, i know im the minorty and you all think im crazy but its my own vehicle i bought it and am building it because i love the way they look, same as someone who buys a 35 dually and puts an 8 inch lift on it its not practical but they love it.

All of the time. I've even had one TJ owner accuse me, "You don't take that thing off-road!" I like to keep it clean, and I had just finished up, less than an hour earlier, taking a series of photos that would be used by OR Fab in an advertising campaign of theirs. So, yes, it was clean. But, he overlooked the scratches in the finish from trees, totally ignored the gouges in the wheels from the rocks, and didn't even look underneath to see how damaged the various skids are. So, now I carry pictures of my Jeep off-roading on my phone. And whenever anyone asks, I stick those pic's in their face. Just happened with a couple of painters at my church last week. After they saw the pic's and I pointed out the damage to the Jeep (hardtop now on, so they can see where I bashed that into a tree at Disney, OK), they agreed that I do, in fact, take my Jeep off-road. I enjoy having mine clean some times because they really are a good looking vehicle. I also love having it muddy which always starts some good conversation. In the end the jeep is a chameleon!

Most people ask since very few JKs actually ever see more than wet grass.
Everyone sees my pics and asks "why would you do that to a nice brand new vehicle?" Hmm, maybe because I would have bought a Mustang for $30k instead of a Jeep if I just wanted to enjoy it on the road!

No off roading for me yet. Only drove in the winter, and its the wifes DD. This summer we will do a little mild off roading, but nothing extreme, just enough to get us to the trailhead for hiking.
We bought the jeep because of the small wheelbase, and it is easy for my wife to drive.
