Does having a VIN mean it's built?
My 2010 has a VIN and my dealer told me that means it's built but he say's it could take untill late Nov to get here..Alberta.Canada. Also Jeep.ca has a way nicer set up for checking out the colors and such. Anyone know if the Jeep can be tracked? I know when my Mustang was built I could see it move though the assembly line..helps I work for Ford. But it has a VIN..

Im from Canada also and have been told by my dealer that i have a VIN. I stopped in yesterday but my sales man was out. I took a look at the jeep.ca site and see that they have the new 2010 ones in there now. Just on a whim i put in my postal code and it said 8 in my area. I didnt remember seeing 8 on site yesterday so i went lookign through their list. Low and behold one of the 8 was my exact order, shows me a VIN in the window sticker it states SOLD VEHICLE. It also lists Status D to D1 100% According to the information found elsewhere ont eh forum that means mines now scheduled to be built. ill have to keep an eye on the window sticker to see if it updates my status. I will confirm with my dealer as soon as i can get in there what my VIN is to see if this is truly the window sticker for my new JK
Thats how I found out about my vin was searching for one around to see if there were any Charcoal's but then I saw mine..it's says "Special scheduling II" and " Status D to D1 less 100%" I just can't see it taking some 6 weeks more! already been 4 almost 5..Damn just means I can buy more things for it...lol..
I ordered my charcoal rubicon unlimited august 26th, so i am at 6 weeks so far. They don't rail ship cars here anymore so mine has to be trucked up from southern ontario once it crosses into Canada. I hope to get more info from the dealer tomorrow afternoon. Ive started a shopping list already myself, but am waiting to sell my TJ before i start buying.
Just got back from my dealer. He confirmed that the window sticker i printed from the jeep.ca website is for my jeep. Expected delivery date is October 26, but he extimates a few weeks to get here because it travels by train first to Manitoba, then back here by truck. Should be by the end of November. Guess no topless days this first season.
