Default Dog Safety Harness - NEW Ruff Rider Harness coming July 2010!

Just talked to Carl Goldberg, owner of Ruffrider.com, and the NEW restraint should be out in July 2010. The newest model will be made in the USA and around same price as the old ($40).

If you care about your dog this is cheap insurance to keeping them safe.

Wow! And i didn't think anybody cared this much! I looked for this for a year, sent the owner e-mails and never got anywhere. Suddenly out of nowhere a gal calls me and offers to send me a free one. I wouldn't do that but I bought one. It's the toughest most reliable harness for a big dog that I could find and believe me I have looked. NO BUCKLES! Nothing to break and iron clad! Heidi loves it and I feel confident that even in a severe accident Heidis' chances are better than mine. Heres a pic:

The first "mod" I made on my JK was to pull out the rear seat. I used a "seat belt extender" and a carabiner to solidly attach the Roadie to the welded attachment point for the seat. Actually, I then discovered that Heidi was so long she could still fall over the side of the jeep and get under the rear wheel so I installed Raingler nets for the summer so she is further restrained in the cargo area. She has the entire cargo area and is able to move about but not into the front seat. It doesn't stop her from putting her paws on the console and navigating.

I don't like the seat belt option for the harnesses. The very first time we used them, it took one of our dogs only 15 mins. before he (I assume unintentionally ) stepped on the belt latch and was free.

What version of the Raingler Nets did you buy? 99.99 JKHN or 174.99 JKBN?

Neither. I got the complete system ( JKSYS2??? I think, ran me about $400 but I think it's a little less now). I have a great net over the front seats (use it to stow coats and hoodies), a large web net from the sound bar over the sport cage to the floor at the tailgate, and two side nets (really important for my dog as if she were to fall over the sides she is long enough to fall under the rear wheels).

The net over the rear easily supported my "mobile hospital" (that is really what it is....I have the equipment to do minor surgery) hanging in sight line with the spare tire. That spot would otherwise be wasted.

I really like my Raingler nets and strongly recommend them. I am aware that since I bought them other companies have brought out products of the same quality but Raingler was the only choice I had. That being the case I would still buy them now.
