Default Don't Die Working On Your Jeep

A fellow at my church has lost his life because he was working under his car and it fell on him. Be safe out there. Tires placed under the vehicle frame/body could save your life.

I don't know any details, yet. When I learn exactly how/what happened, I will share.

It is common people start reefing on something and if not using jackstands bad stuff happens like was said throw your tires underneath so you have a chance if it falls

Wow, sorry Mark and my condolences to the family. We had a Marine die because he didn't put the jack stands under his car. Sad days for both.

Wow. That sucks. I had a scare while using my hi lift jack early on in my jeep addiction and that was enough to get me to take Extra precautions while working under my Jeep. I now use jack stand and put all tires that get taken off under the jeep

Fellow Jeeper "Chuck The Ripper" almost expired yesterday when a grinder got out of hand and cut his inside thigh severing his artery. Luckily for him, he was a Army combat medic, kep his head, acted extremely quickly knowing that he would be unconscious in a minute or two and dead shortly after.... and he used his training and saved his own life as he was passing out by using a tourniquet.

I'd post his pictures, but not sure if he wants them out here. It looks like a freaking shark attack victim! It's horrible.

Well today has been one of the scariest days of my life. I can't explain how glad I am that I was a combat medic in the army. I was messing with my jeep using a cutoff wheel on my grinder, I had the trigger locked down when it caught something and shot out of my hands. It happened fast but I remember standing up and thinking I had a small cut u til I looked down and saw bright red bleeding.. I grabbed a rag and held pressure as I limped outside yelling for help. Luckily a group of my neighbors were outside and ran over to help. I continued to hold pressure and had another guy help me. I yelled for another guy to find my aidbag inside my garage. I began to get dizzy by the time I got outside and continued to decomponsate. By the third time of looking inside for my medical bag the kid was ready to give up. I was on the verge of passing out at this point and begged him to look again or I was certain for death. Scariest feeling of my life. Finally he found it. I told him to open it and pointed at the tourniquet. I had the one guy continue holding pressure as I cinched it around my leg. By this time I was too weak and needed help tightening it enough. I finally got it to cut off the circulation within literally seconds of passing out.. I layed on the ground for approximately 5 minutes before the ambulance arrived and it was another 10+ minutes before we finally started transport. I was rushed to EL and then directly to Pittsburgh. I had 2 blood transfusions among many other things. I'm good now but it is terrifying to know how close I was to dying today over something so stupid.... That was my copied post from Facebook...
