Default Door Locks

In the JK 07 is it possible to lock the doors so that they cannot be opened by lifting the button on the interior door rest but can only be opened using the key.

Thanks

I know BMW convertibles will do this. Never seen it on a Jeep though.

You could disconnect the cable, but then your windows and entry dome light wouldn't work either.

I think he means where even the mechanical release doesn't work, not just the power release.

One of my buddies locked me in his M3 convertible once. They require two pulls on the door handle to open the door when locked. The first pull unlocks the door. The second pull opens the door. By the time I could get the 2nd pull in, the computer had relocked the door.

Damn ruthless German computer efficiency...

It's times like this that a pocket knife comes in very handy. Unfold it and make a slicing motion towards the top, or the seats. See if he lets you out then.

Default why lock it?

I get the "don't you lock your doors?" question a lot. I say naw doesn't do any good...that's when they give me the deer in the headlights look and about .2 seconds later I point them to the zippers on the windows. Then I get the look I demonstrate and then I get thelook. Now, having said all that, I don't have the power windows/lock features...just my $.02

I've locked mine withthe windows & top down. I do it in hopes of saving my doors. From what I understand, all four together cost what I paid for the jeep.
