Default Doors off

I would like to get some of your opinions on taking your doors off with children. I have a 2010 jku and its getting to be that time of year to strip down the jeep but i have a 10 month old and of corse is still in a car seat. Do you think i will get hasteled by the police or other drivers if they see a kid in the back seat with no doors?

As long as their strapped in a car seat its all good. You may want to to get a bikini top or at least lather the youngan up with sun tan lotion and put some sun glasses on them since the carseats have them facing upward.

I have a 8,6&4 year old. I too like being doorless. But kids are kids. (I don't trust them) so i just ordered Bestop front 2 piece soft doors and rear rugged ridge half doors. This way when I'm down the shore ( driven less then 40) I can put all the doors under my rear Tuffy deck.

I have a three year old and he loves the doors being off. The fact that your child is in a car seat with a 5 point harness they are not going anywhere.

The biggest issue will be the toys that fly out of the Jeep when making turns. I would also recommend moving the car seat to the center of the Jeep.

Keep the car seat in the middle tied down with the LATCH system tightly and don't drive like Nascar and you should be good. I also agree with the other post about covering the little one. Solid coverage is better than lotion. Also, keep an eye on how much wind is blasting him / her.

Cheers!

Default no problem

i have an 8 year old and a 5 year old and have had my Jeep since 2008. My kids absolutely love being in the open air and doorless. My kids fully follow the rules however and have never done anything to make me feel unsecure about having the doors off.
We have gone on camping trips and traveeled upwards of 3 hrs on the highway with no top or doors with no issues.
They love it when we get stuck in a sudden shower while driving!

Get some tube doors. Gives you the safety of doors with the feel/freedom of no doors.
