Default Electric Wrangler - why not?

Take a look at this:

D1g1tal Dr1ve - Up to 1150 N-m of torque:
D1 Technical Specifications - The Revolutionary D1G1TAL DR1VE
2010 Motoczysz E1PC | Popular Science

We even could use a E85 or diesel engine as generators for offroad/crosscountry.

I'd only worry about water immersion of the drive motors. I am sure sme clever engineering could overcome that, though. Love the instantaneous torque of DC motors, though.

This engine is not air cooled - uses an internal oil water heat exchange, is quite water resistant.

What a dream Wrangler would be.
Me too, like DC motors and their instantaneous torque.
