Hate it or love it the 3.8L is now dead. As most of us know the pentastar JKs will be here soon now.

I have my reservations about the Penstar. I'd hate to have the first year model with that motor. Should be interesting.

The good thing about the Pentastar is that it's in basically every Chrysler model including abused Police patrols. If there is some design flaw, we will find it fairly quick and it should be close to perfect in a few years.

It would be funny if everyone started saying the last of the good Jeeps was 2011. Some will probably find a reason to say that, others will move on and love the 2012 and beyond. It's most likely going to be that way.

yeah i dont get it, every single jeeps owner says "we need a bigger engine" what do we get as a solution? and slightly smaller engine. Doesnt make sense.

We need a 4.0 v6 like the xterra has, have you ever driven one? plenty of power.

The 3.8 has plenty of power for me. It will accelerate from 0 to 65 at every on ramp on the Hollywood Freeway if I don't get stuck behind a Honda or Toyota. Those guys wait until they are on the freeway to accelerate. I have 33's 3.73 and 6 speed and plenty of power for me.
