Whoever is planning on disabling the ESP permanently let me tell you a little story of what happened to me today.

I was driving down I-75 from Naples to Ft Lauderdale when a torrential summer downpour happened Flooding the highway , when suddenly I hit a puddle and felt the rear of the jeep start to swing to one side hydroplaning ,needless to say me and my wife were freaking out. all of a sudden you could feel the ESP kick in applying the brakes to the four wheels at diff times.
This allowed me to get control of the jeep and thankfully continue on my way, I always thought this was a useless feature but boy did it prove me wrong today.

ill be keeping it on. its the for a good reason..

Thanks OP for this post...I've been wondering if anyone's actually been saved using ESP. I swaer mine was fidgity before the lift...doubly so even though I'm still running stock rims/tires. My ESP seems to grab..and grab almost tooooooo dang hard in some spots I call the sidewinders (pot holes that at 50+ start to throw you sideways). I've hit the same spots both with the ESP *fully* on and with *only* the button hit to off....but I swear in comparision to my truck and the wife's car...this ESP scares the CRAP outta me sometimes........

as for me if it starts raining heavy and knowing that the Jeep is a light vehicle with the short WB I through it in 4high that is what it is for anyways, better traction, means less slipping. Even though it is in 4H instead of 2H as in normal driving you can cruise at highway speeds while in 4H. With or without the ESP any driver should use common sense and more if they have precious cargo (Loved ones) with you....

CyCbr that was a close call and good advice, Chrysler engineers did good on some things, just not a few...like the Evap Can I relocated above the axle today. I just learned how to disengage it while offroading and that's good enough, never did plan on disco'ng permanently, figured they had a good reason to have it
