Default ESP BAS light on??

I just installed my Terraflex front brake lines. I bled them out & then my dash lit up with an "ESP BAS" code.

Manual says to take to stealership. I'm assuming that the bleeding process triped this code. Can Autozone reset this or do I have to take it in to the Dealer?

Any help appreciated!

one of the sensors might be screwing up and giving you some issues. When i had those lights come on it was a bad wheel speed sensor and the dealer replaced it no problem. Not exactly sure if having this code wiped off would be a good thing or not because it could lead to your ESP and or brakes not working properly in the event of an emergency. Good luck on your find.

Thanks. I guess I'll run it in & let them check it out.

can you update us on what they told you? i have an unmodded 2010 JK and i got the ESP/BAS and fishtail indicators today for the first time. i am wondering if they are going to turn me down any diagnosis for failure to replicate the problem at the dealership. i did photograph the display but no idea if they will go by that.

I'll post what I find out here. I will prolly go into town tomorrow & talk with service. I'm sure it happened when I installed my new brake lines. While bleeding the brakes the pedal hit the floor a few times.

I took it in today. I thought they would just get me in & hook it up, reflash it or whatever. He wanted to keep it. Not today.

He told me to unhook my battery for over a half hour. It's sitting in the garage unhooked. I'll check it when I get home from work tomorrow. Hope it resets itself.

I'm not sure why your light came on. I really don;t know if the Jeep has a brake actuator or not. I know my toyota pichup had one & after installing the lift the brakes didn't work until I extended the actuator downward.

Mabey someone with some first hand experience will help you.
