I built a survival kit that I keep under the driver's seat in my Jeep at all times.

Also, not only are plastic water bottles expensive, create trash that you have to deal with, and an environmental nuisance, they can break rather easily and they take up valuable space. Instead, opt for a proper dromedary. I recommend the MSR brand, which comes in various sizes up to 10-liters. Made of a canvas like fabric, it's extremely strong and can be shaped to fit into any nook and cranny when filled. It has three different ways to get water from it, from a small spout suitable for direct drinking, to a large opening that attaches to a water filter (such as backpacker's carry). If you're really going into the wilderness, get one of those filters, too, BTW. Where to get this stuff: Any good outdoor gear shop, preferably one that sells climbing/kayaking/backpacking/etc gear, not hunting/fishing. REI, Backwoods, etc, not Cabela's or Bass Pro.

LOL. I guess it depends where you're wheeling. If you break down half way around White Rim Trail, none of those would be much good. Well, once you got out of there you could use the Amex to pay the $2000 tow bill.

I will have onboard air (compressor). Good call on the tire kit. I didn't even think of that even though I have looked at more than one online...

I'll have to pick up the 35mm socket. Don't have one of those!

Thanks for all the input so far!

My 2 cents is a good multi-tool and a good knife.
