Extended Warranty
when we purchased our 08 we bought the max care ( extended warranty) to follow along with our lifetime powertrain warranty just in case something dreaded went wrong. fast forward to 2010, we ordered our unlimited and when we signed the papers at the dealership upon taking delivery they asked us if we wanted the max care plan again, I said just roll the one we have now over to the new jeep, she said they couldn't do that and that DC would refund me the pro-rated amount and then we could use that to go towards the new jeep's max care plan, BUT after being on the forum for awhile and reading all the declined warranty issues I am hesitant on getting it for this jeep ( around $1300- 1600). I was just wanting to get all of your opinions on this subject and if it would be worth getting or not.
not sure what i was thinking when i walked away from the dealer purchasing the extended warranty
walked in the next week to cancel and refund..you have 30 days from purchase otherwise they pro-rate the refund...

Extended warranties are good to have. My other Jeep has power windows and the regulators and or motors went out in three of the doors over 4 years. ( a mod can't cause that) It would have been about $480.00 each time one went out, but with the extended warranty it was just the $100.00 deductible. Then the valve body in my tranny went out. that would have been close to $900.00, but with the extended warranty... $100.00.
I got the extended warranty on my JK and I'm modding the heck out of it.
Remember, if something goes wrong with your JK and they don't want to cover it under factory warranty or extended warranty, they have to prove that it was the mod that caused the failure.
Something to think about
