Fabric Protector for Soft Top
I've got the new premium fabric soft top and am about to install it for the first time for the spring/summer. Can anyone recommend a good protector scotch guard/water repellant to help protect the fabric? Thanks.
Bestop makes a protectant and cleaner for the soft top

I am pretty sure they source the premium fabric from or found a knock off of a fabric made by the Sunbrella company. Anyhow care instructions on the website...

It has a very high UV rating and it works.
I see this thread is a few months old but I would like to put my 2cents in on the 303. I had just put my black twill replace a top on in April of this year. I had used the 303 product 30520 Convertible Fabric Top Cleaning and Care Kit that bestop recommended in the instructions for cleaning and care for the new material. After searching for instructions on how 303 recommends putting this stuff on, the only instructions I could find is for a awning or umbrella, Nothing for a convertible. So I took instructions from a different brand and I covered and taped off my entire jeep, Including the plastic windows on the soft top. I used the type of paper Paint shops use to cover the cars in the paint booth. I sprayed my entire top with 303 High tech fabric guard that came in that kit. I had a few things to do so I left the jeep all covered up for a couple hours. When I came back and took the paper and tape all off the jeep the 303 had gone through the paper over the plastic windows and ruined 2 of the back 3 windows on my brand new black twill top. I figured this was my mistake so I called bestop to order a new rear window and passenger side window. Once I was done ordering the customer service rep asked if I was at least out having fun since all I said so far was I ruined my windows. I told him all about the 303 protectant that bestop has listed in the care for the top in the instructions and he warrantied my windows. I told him he didn't have to do that but he insisted then he told me bestop has there own protectant now and they recommend using a sponge or soft cloth to apply the protectant and not to spray it on like 303 instructions say to do. The customer service rep didn't say they were having problems with the instructions recommending 303 but I am thinking they must be having a lot of complaints cause why else would he be so willing to give me the windows under warranty when I was willing to pay for them to start with. I am happy he warranted them and it saved me almost $400.00. But I will not use 303 again no matter how good other people say it is. And the customer service at Bestop must be the best in the world, I have never had such excellent customer service and took control over the situation immediately after I explained how I ruined the windows.
This is just my opinion on the 303 high tech fabric guard protectant. Someone else can have a totally different experience then I did and may love the stuff, I do not.
