Nope, my mistake figured it was a little more of a pain then stated. I stand corrected. Ignore my comments the dealer got me on that one but I didn't really give it much thought as it was already on the jeep at the dealer. Huh

Got mine with the Max Tow Package & it came with 373 gears, 59 rear springs & hitch. Oh and almost forgot - the black "JEEP" rubber receiver plug, what a deal.

Just make sure you get the correct axle ratio.
I added my own hitch and harness (which is all you get in the factory package).....it is very easy to do. Got mine from Quadratec for $89 shipped. (ask for free shipping)

3.73 gears cost $195, so add in your $90 receiver and plug and your at ~$285 and you still have the wrong springs. So for $390 Max Tow the factory puts the right springs under it, adds 3.73's, and does all the work and slaps a three year warranty on it. So you have to ask yourself is it worth it to take that $105 and buy some 59/60 springs and crawl under the jeep for a few hours.

I don't agree. As mentioned, you get higher springs, a receiver, and the wiring plug mounted AND 3.73's. Yes you can buy the receiver and wiring and springs cheaper than the Tow Group but to say NOTHING is wrong. Especially with Max Tow.

if you are like alot of people , you may get aftermarket bumpers . My aftermarket rear bumper has a tow hitch built in . I had to remove my factory hitch to install bumper . But it was nice to already have the hitch wiring installed . That's all I have to say about that .

I have 59's and I don't think anything less will do on a JKU. Here is a pick with 200lbs on the hitch hauler and 400lbs in the cargo/back seat.

Actually I think you get one number for a hardtop and two for a tow package. Maybe I'm naive thinking most do not change out their springs, but 95% of the JK's I see aren't lifted. Sure the forum has more enthusiast's but I still think alot of us are in the stock to BB range.

To build on that, I had similar thoughts. At the already large cost of the Jeep, $100 over 5 years was negligible to have the tow package already installed since I wanted 3.73's. Plus the hitch and wiring are covered under warranty. Therefore I ordered Max Tow.
I am only running a TF spacer kit, so I thought great, I'll have the nice heavy duty springs under mine since I have a dual top, Max Tow equipped Jeep. Low and behold, I find a set of 17's in the front and 58's out back...WTF? Seems like the spring selection in these is achieved by tossing at a dart board as they're built. I traded some other stuff for a nice set of low mileage take off 18/59's to offset my AEV bumpers.
