Default fire extinguishers

if you haven"t purchased a fire extinguisher yet go out and buy one now. they are going up in price , they have went up 20 percent in june and just got word they are going up again 20 percent its because of phosphate prices.

Do you know the best rating to carry on the Jeep. I guess it would be a combo for electrical and for wood burning.
Or am I over analyzing and should just go buy one?

I picked one up at WalMart in the auto section. My assumption, and silly me for assuming anything, is that it will take care of any fires relating to your auto, which may include grass/wood/etc.

I bought one rated : A B C I think it covers most fires

This is what I plan on getting..A couple of them. They dishcarge for like 30 sec. I have seen them at Grainger..I might do a demo to see how well they work.

ABC rating means class A, B and C fires, being ordinary combustibles, liquids, and electrical fires. There should also be a rating as to how much fire the extinguisher could put out. I went with a small marine grade one that was extra in my boat, it is white and matched my jeep. I buying one, I would recommend one with a metal valve, which would mean it is rechargeable. I have pretty good insurance, I'm not sure I would put the fire out is she caught on fire, the 09's are coming out soon.

LOL... I see your point.

Thanks for the advice on the valve. I will be getting one soon.
