Default First model year worries

Hey guys and gals

I'm looking at getting a used JK 2-door next year and will probably have to save money by getting a 2007/2008. I'm worried about all the random problems I have heard and Chrysler's lackluster response to some of them.

I'm working on limited knowledge because I haven't seen a post that lists all the problems each model year has had and whether or not they were fixed in the next model year.

This is really the only vehicle I can get excited about but I'm not gonna have a warranty so having a vehicle with problems scares me

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

With the prices that the good used ones are going for, and the low interest rates, I'd recommend going for a new one. Still lots of '10s around for an even better deal.

Yeah the used prices make my head explode.

but...

It's still a better value to go used.

I've got to stay under 20K.

Hi Gump - welcome to the forum. There are lots of us here running 07 JKs. Mine has not had any issues. I know the previous owner took care of it, but I didn't know that when I bought it. I have over 76000 km on it now.

One advantage of the 07's is no TPMS, so no annoying light or bell when you air down.

Should be able to find one within your price range.

Another 07 here. Mines an Automatic, with tow package, which included the Dana 44 rear and 4:10 gears in 2007 (Nice Bonus!). It's a daily driver and no problems with it at all.

Have an '07 Sahara. Bought it with 30,000 miles and have only put on 8-9000. The only thing I've had to fix was the water pump and it does burn oil. Put 5w-30 and it helped quite a bit but still get some disappearing. Been happy so far.

Did you buy new or used? If you bought new with a tow package then you have 4.10 gears. That is the way they came in 07.

I have on 07 with almost 67,000 miles and no issues....(Knock on wood)
