Well, after months of lurking here, and contemplating options and deciding on a color, I finally made a first move to getting the thing ordered. I emailed the dealer that is literally a block from my house, and told them what I wanted to order, and what I was going to pay for it. I got a call today from a polite sales associate who informed me that he spoke with the sales manager and that the price I had offered was ok and that as soon as I wanted to come in and place the order, I could.

As of now, the plan is Unlimited X Detonator Yellow, C package, auto tranny, hard top only. I basically gave them a figure somewhere between invoice and jeepwarehouse and they accepted. I am excited!

First week of september is when I will go in to order it. It will be the highlight of my vacation probably.

UPDATE:

Went in and placed my order today! Painless process as far as buying a new car goes...of course they produced a figure higher than what I was previously quoted, and I said that the lower one was what I wanted, they agreed, I put my deposit down and signed the agreement. I went with stone white/khaki instead of yellow/gray....but I hope it is here by Christmas.

 

UPDATE:

Got a call today from the dealership....my JK was built yesterday and shipped today....should be here in a few weeks! That was fast! He sounded really surprised that it took less than a month to get built! Awesome for me!

what's up with all the detonator yellows? you're another one that ordered the same color as me! I wanted to be different, but it looks like yellow is getting too popular.

Well its here! Unloaded off the truck this afternoon...I got the call...I went down and looked at it...everything looks ok so far. I wont be able to pick it up until at least tuesday...it might even be wednesday with my schedule....anyway...ordered 9/15 - delivered 10/20...I am NOT complaining!
