Floor Jack for Jeep Mods
I was interested in what model floor jack would be good for Jeep work?
I have new tires and wheels coming and will be placing a lift order in the next day or 2. I understand a floor jack is needed to do the work. I have reasonable mechanical skills so I'm not concerned about that. I just wanted to get some good references for this so I can do the job right. I have a Northern Tool nearby and saw they have some decent models available but I wasn't sure about things like maximum lift, max load, etc.
Any suggestions would be great!!

I have this craftsman jack. It's heavy, built well, and lifts up to almost 19". Works fine for lifting my jeep on 35s.

JACK STANDS are the most important part, as said above !!!

I've been using this floor jack with no problems or complaints.

As already noted, a pair of jack stands are a must also. These one's look good. They're not the ones I use, which I purchased at a local auto parts store, but the specs are the same.

I picked up a couple 6ton jack stands from Advance Auto and a good sized floor jack. You don't want to rely on the floor jack to support your vehicle if you're under it. Use jack stands.

You will want tall jack stands to work on a Jeep. Most 3 ton jack stands are strong enough but the often do not have enough height adjustment to work on a Jeep. As noted above, you will want 6 ton jack stands which give you not only plenty of strength but also enough vertical travel to work on your Jeep.
Trust me I did this wrong once and got 3 ton jack stands only to find they would not adjust high enough to install my lift.
