Default Found a new JK door pocket alternative

I'd been looking around for something to replace the droopy door net pockets on my 2012 JKU. The only domestic product I'd found was the Slickrock door pockets. They're really nice, especially in carbon-fiber but they're sold out and SR only has black plastic currently. No ETA on when the next batch of CR are going to be ready. I like them but they're thin so you can't hold sunscreen or a drink like the nets can.

So anyway I happened to be dorking around on Chinese ebay since they have a lot of really oddball stuff for Jeeps that don't show up on Amazon or US Ebay. I just happened to run across some cheap pocket alternatives with a can bump for drinks. Not sure if they'll hit your leg and be obnoxious or if they're great so I ordered a set. I figure if they stick out too far in the front doors I'll stick them in the back doors where there's more leg space and the drink bump shouldn't be an issue. So for $35 shipped for a set I figured why not. I'll let you guys know how they are when they show up.

Anyway, those aren't referral links or anything, just thought it was a cool find that other guys might find useful.

That's pretty interesting indeed, given the lack of options we have. Downside being 2 months delivery time

Quick update. These are showing up on regular US Ebay.com.

I ordered these. Install was easy, looks just as pictured. As for fit, I am 5'9" 180lbs mildly athletic/muscular calves, as such the cup holder protrudes enough that my leg rests against it. Not terrible but definitely noticable, I have only taken a couple of short trips so not sure how it will be on a long trip. Wife is 5'7"/ average build (for the record I never said that) and she says she doesn't notice them for what it's worth.
Has plenty of room and holds a 32oz water bottle no problem, i.e. if it fits in the cupholder in the center console it will fit these. Not perfect but for the money I am satisfied with them.

Yeah mine just came in yesterday. I'm by chance the same height and build. I find the cup holder uncomfortable when driving and I have an automatic. It'd be a total no-go for a clutch. I run a dead pedal on the left since I've got a long daily commute.

So I'm glad I only ordered two because I'm moving them back to the passenger doors on my JKU. I'm probably going to clear silicone mine in as they work pretty well as-is but my toddler kicks it out getting in and out of car seat in the rear.

The build quality is fine and they are light weight but not so thin I don't think they'll hold up.

Overall a decent solution.

Something is nagging at me that there's got to be a better solution to replace the door pocket nets. I'm going to figure it out. I'm an engineer so stuff like this nags at me until I solve it. More to come.
