Default Found one local...

I have to admit that I've been building a 77 Ford Bronco for about a year now... The 4-door Rubicon has really thrown a wrench into my plans of using the Bronco off-road and as a fun around town convertible, while maintaining my '05 F-150 as my dauly driver.

This 4-door Rubicon bug has bitten me bad. I located a Rescue Green (prefer Jeep green), 4-door Rubicon across town and want to take it on a test-drive desperately.... My wife will KILL me if I shelf the Bronco, trade my truck and start building a JK! ( I will build it - lift, tires, bumpers, winch, etc.)

The sticker is like $32k with just a soft top?!?! Does that sound right? I've priced them on Edmunds with the dual top option and come up with lower amounts.

I appreciate your patience in reading my chaotic thoughts...

Jeff

Depends on what all it is loaded with, you can certainly get a 4dr Rubicon over $32k.

You would need to list the options it is loaded with to know.

As far as "good" price, it all depends.

It seems that most dealers that give deals, do so off of the price of the vehicle, as people here seem to be getting X over invoice for example.

Dealers in my area very rarely will move off of sticker for new vehicles in high demand, but what they will do is give you a very favorable trade in price. For example, I am "paying" MSRP on my Rubicon, which is easily $2500-$3k more than what I could have gotten it through jeepwarehouse.com for example. But they are giving me almost $3k more than what blue book prices were for my trade in...and even exceeded what blue book says I could sell my vehicle for.
In the end, the price worked out about the same.

Did you get the price fixed for the Rubi then talk to them about your trade? How did you work all that into the deal?

I went by the dealership tonight to see a SOLD sticker on the windshield... I may just wait until next year.

It's going to be torturous watching all these builds in progress.

I have a 1969 Bronco that I love. It is a great wheeler with classic looks. It is durable, powerful, capable, there is a great community of owners, and I get compliments all the time when I take it out. I plan on keeping it forever.

I also have a JK Rubicon Unlimited on order. I can fit the whole family in the JK. The JK has air conditioning and overdrive. The JK is quiet and has a smooth ride.

Go ahead and get a JK, but don't get rid of the Bronco.

Thanks for the advice. I sold a 74 Bronco 3 years back explaining the current build. I wish I still had that truck! This one's staying around for a while...

I may order a 4 door Rubicon next year or a 4-door F-150 with the FX4 package to act as my "family vehicle", tow rig for the bronco and Home Depot runner. Time will only tell. Until then, I'm sticking to the bronco build and watching the JK's under construction.

Keep those pics and videos of JK's coming!
