So today i jacked up my jeep today to check the ball joints out and some other stuff. I went to turn the front tire while it was off the ground and i here a rough noise, kinda like slight clunk/rough. thought it was the u-joints on the front drive shaft but they checked out fine. So i used a automobile stethiscope to hear the front axle, sounds like the noise is something internal. It makes the same noise on the driver side and the passenger side. Any ideas what would cause the noise. Checked my front wheel bearings and they're fine as well. Front and rear axle are stock dana 44

 

If it was mine I would pull the diff cover and have a closer look and listen.
