Front windshield
i did it just on my driveway to see how it worked, and i would never dream of doing it again, took a good couple of hours to lower it and put it back up, and im still not sure if its back 100%
defo leave well alone in my honest opinion
as far as the helmet/visor/goggles go, i would image that as long as you had a combo of those on you would be fine legally - just a guess tho

I did it last weekend, you definately should have some help with a second set of tools to make everything go by smoothly. Oh, and don't attach the lower windshield corner brackets before reinstalling the peices of the roll bar. There is a reason I know this.. other than the instructions saying to do so.

It defiantly is fun if you are off-road. So I'd recommend trying it if you have a weekend where you can play around with the Jeep and have no critical appointments to make.

Asked that question around here a while ago and got 2 dif answers... One cop sais so long as you have protective eyewear your ok, yet another said no go.... I may try it one day and see what happens
with there was a way to remove the roll bar completely though for looks.... JK would look badass with the windshield down and rollbar out completely, almost a twin to its original military counterparts

Echofoxtrot,
You original post the other day was the one that gave me the idea to try it, but I couldn't remember where you posted all I remembered was that first pic of the windshield down. Great pics thanks alot!!!!
I don't think I will be trying this anytime soon, sounds like a total pita and I probably would loose something or not get it back right.

Hey guys and gals, I always have the top down and most of the time have the doors off (once I was shown how easy it was to take the doors off), but what about the front windshield?
1. How hard is it to put down?
2. How long does it take and what tools?
3. What do you think of it? Drive it on the Highway or is that a dumb question?
and last post pics please front side
Thanks Red

I dont get it... it does not affect anyone but the people in the vehicle, why make a law against it? Kinda like seat belts.
First time is hard and you may want to never do it again. I have done it a few times. I leave little things off when i put it back up to make it easier for next time. Like the sun visors, and the plastic crap along the A-pillars to make it look nice. Also for the 3 bolts on the inside top corners of the windshield, only put 2 on for each, no real need for the middle one.
It does take about 20-30 mins even when you know what your doing so make sure its not gonna rain soon and you can enjoy the windshield down without having to put it back on 2 hours later

It's easy to get it back to the original position, as long as you attach the roll bars to the windshield first! I attached the brackets at the corners first originally. At first I was freaked out that it wouldn't line up and the day was almost over. Then I read the instructions... doh!
As for losing things, yes it is very posible you can lose one of the bolts behind the dash if you arn't careful. I dropped one and was lucky that it went behind a removable trim peice on the A-pillar, so no big.
There were recently pics on the show and tell thread of ChevyM14 driving 60mph with the windshield down on his 09.... Might want to check that out.
