Default Front windshield replacement ?

Has anyone had there front windshield replaced to due rock cracks, etc.

Had my glass replaced and upon seeing my jeep they apparently scratched around the border of the window recess removing the glue (tech says thats what happens), but touched up areas that were scratched with black primer. Now around the edge of the window there are streaks of yellow then black. Might be a bit picky, but it looks like crap. Anyone else have this happen?

Hello
I had my windshield replaced a few weeks ago,
Not a hitch,
I was talking to the guy who installed it while the glue dried and thought that if it was a tricky installation he would have mentioned it.

Good Luck

Broken windshields are a part of Jeep life. I had my first windshield replace about 8 months after I bought the JK. Had it replaced at a local glass shop and the glass and installation was perfect and looked like it was factory installed.

Windshield #3 installed last Friday....

Good thing I bought the full glass coverage with no deductible.

My regards,

ditto

that windshield isn't cheap

Had mine replaced at 9 months of ownership

Only thing off about my install is they did a piss poor job of putting the plastic molding around the top of the window shield back in place.. but we won't go into that

Thought the rock was going to come through the windshield.

I guess I've been lucky that I've only had to replace mine once in almost 3 years.
I didn't bother with the insurance, it was only $160, and they came to my work to install it. Looks perfect except for one little spot behind the defrost vent where the sealant squished up into view a tiny bit.

I paid like $125 I think. Cheapest windshield replacement I've ever had to do.

I called Safelite and they came out and did the replacement in about 20 minutes. Perfect.
