Frustrated with Chrysler/Jeep
I bought a 2008 Rubicon Unlimited in April 2008. Within a month I had a problem with the ETC (electronic throttle control). The dash light would flash and the engine would go to half power, nearly stall, and run like it was missing a couple cylinders. Since that time, it has been in the shop nearly 20 times with no fix. Two dealers have tried. Chrysler/Jeep said it was caused by after market accessories. I had the problem for a year before I added any aftermarket items. When I did, I added tires, rims, bumpers, winch, off road lights, exhaust and cold air intake. Nothing that could cause this problem. They removed everything and went back to stock and the problem persisted. I was advised by the dealer to file for lemon law replacement. As soon as I did that, Jeep would not honor the warranty. I then contacted my attorney regarding a lawsuit. It seems that when Chrysler reorganized, there is a new Chrysler Corp. and it is unclear which one (old or new) would be named. So, I would have to sue the old one, the new one, and the dealer. It would take years before it would go to court and cost me thousands not even knowing which Chrysler, if either, would be responsible. So here I sit with a Jeep that cost me over $50,000 that won't run and Chrysler won't stand behind it. I wish I was not a jeep fan. I have owned many jeeps over the years and have never had anything like this happen. Any ideas?

im sorry to hear about it, but my jeep has had the same problems.
took 2 months and about 4 grand to fix a transmission issue after taking it to two dealerships. it has turned me away from jeep and am in the market for something better built.

I had a similar ordeal with an extremely leaky soft top on my 2007 four door. I took it in 8 times and then had Chrysler buy it back from me. I travel a lot for work so when it would rain my Jeep filled with water and would mildew because I wasn't home to dry it out. I would think that if you have been taking it in for the same issue befor Jeep was bought out that the original company would have to handle the claim.
That really is sad to hear. The accountability in any meaning of the word has disappeared from the world. Honesty, Integrity, and doing the right thing when it really counts is no longer existent. I wish you the best of luck in this situation, and hopefully someone will step up and do what is just and acceptable to help you out of this pickle with the f*ing Chrysler Corp.
