Honestly I wouldn't even gear but that's just me. I run 35's/4.5AEV/ superchips and have no issues. Hell I get better gas milage now then stock. Lol

Automatic JKS should have come wig 4.56 or 4.88 gears for stock size tires from the factory.

For 35s and an automatic, you need 5.38 gears to even come close to the power and rpm levels of a stock 6 speed Rubi on stock Rubi tires.

5.13s would be okay if you live in a flat, sea level area.

4.10s will be unbearable if you live at a high mountain elevation or windy area.

Until then, turn off the OD when the tranny starts gear hunting.
ya for me it is just hard to grasp cause from working on cars if you put a 5.13 that is crazy and just a drag car. The thing i am worring about is i drive interstate alot and how will the top end be then if you go that high? Will this really improve mpg increasing the gear? And yes i live in east tn so i deff have hills and mountains and i go to them alot considering that is where the wheeling is and mt biken and good camping. thanks man for great info too

Check with your local shops before buying yourself. Some will offer better prices and better warranties if you buy through them.

Try 4WD and Northridge if you do purchase yourself. Both are sponsors, so you can PM them with questions if you need more info than just their websites.

This is a very intense install that should be done by someone who has real experience doing gears. If you mess up a shim or don't get a proper wear pattern, you can really get screwed. The gear oil alone could set you back $70.00

If your dads shop does gear swaps, I'm very envious of you! Good luck with the gears. Have fun.
