Been thinking of re-naming my JK.... for reasons I can't explain "Big Red" has begun to bug me, especially since it's Red Rock and not Flame Red. Or maybe some of you like the name and think I should keep it, I dunno? Something a little more "original" and fun, like "Hot Dog" or a totally random name that doesn't infer the red rock color. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

 

I expected a red Jeep with the name Big Red, but I think it works for your red rock as well. I like the mountain-style decal on the hood. I see that your Jeep is a Sahara though. I would remove the Sahara decal. A sand dune and a mountain on the same Jeep doesn't look right to me. I tried to think of some names for you, but didn't come up with much. Maybe Red Mountain (like the place in CA) or Red Rock (as in Moab). I'm not real creative!

 

Would you change the name of your kid or your dog?

Then why would you change the name of your Jeep?

 

If it bugs you get rid of it, as long as somthing hasn't learned to come to me when I say it's name then I have no problem changing it! Lol

 

Thanks for the compliments, bud! I have considered removing the Sahara decal, but I thought it's too much like removing a birthmark from your kid. My baby was born with it! It's seen sand dunes at Pismo Beach but maybe it's time to reconsider & remove it.

 

Hahaha good point!! Although I do tend to call my dogs by many different names when they misbehave or clown around

 

If you change the name, maybe you could incorporate a sand dune into the decal. Then you'd have two sand dunes, rather than a dune & a mountain.

Or, I think it would be cool to call it Red Rock, then have some sort of Moab-inspired decal made.

I also like the older style Sahara decals with the Palm trees. I used to have a Sahara, and I ditched the dune in favor of the palm trees. Here's a pic:



You could do the palm tree decal, then add "Sahara" to the side of the hood in Rubicon-style lettering.

 

It's a cool idea, but I wanted to get away from the BigRed thing and find something maybe even more original. Sahara branding isn't exactly original either and i've seen a lot of JKs with custom Sahara decals on the hood.

 

Keep the name!! I am not a fan of after market decals but I have to say I really like yours!! And your red is the 'real' red!!

 

Did a quick google on things red / maroon. Some suggestions:

Bricks / Brickley
Scoria (sounds tough- it's a type of a red rock)
Checkers (could pattern a decal)

And-- things w/ red in the name:

Red Crawler
Red Wagon
Red Flyer
