Talking Get to see my JK tomorrow!

I picked up my JK Unlimited the day before I had to return back to school from winter break. Searched all winterbreak for a JK with the right options, looking at dealership inventories in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. Finally found one with the options I wanted, and options my parents said I had to get, i.e. side airbags (safety) and a hardtop.
Found one in Virginia on a Saturday afternoon, called the dealership to make sure they still had it, haggled the price down, and drove down from Maryland and cut the check right then and there. Drove it back home and intended to drive it back to school with me on that Sunday but we couldn't get in touch with our insurance company to add it and make sure I was covered.
So reluctantly I drove back to school in my dad's '96 ZJ, that still turns heads btw. Then I found this forum and have learned so much! I check it daily to see updates and just to see what potential modifications I intend to do once the warranty is up.

And so to make a long story short....I'm driving home from school tomorrow for spring break and get to spend a day just driving around in my JK that I haven't seen in 2.5 months! And then I'm off with my buddies for Spring Break in Barbados and a whole lot of catching up to do in this forum once I get back.

hmm... the guy posts to the forum about his jeep and tells his story thinking he will get some warmth and all he gets is a "must be nice to be rich?"... seems kind of cold...sounds like a young guy excited about his jeep...

He'll get his warmth in Barbados.

maybe he is rich, maybe he isnt, makes no difference to me either way unless he is willing to adopt. But, he just came across as a little rich kid by basically two of his statements:

"...cut the check right then and there." and "Spring Break in Barbados"

I would guess most of us would like to do both of those things, and therefor feel a bit left out. Because you can do them doesnt necesarrily mean your rich.
I cut a check for my JK right away too. (the 5 year loan was pre-approved, all i needed was a bill of sale to complete it...) That certainly doesnt make me rich. I spent a spring break in Key West. Drove my 1972 GMC shortbed junker pickup from NY to my mom's in Floral City, left it there and caught a bus to KeyWest. Slept on the beach for a week & conned my way into taking a shower in some other vacationer's rooms. It cost me gas to get there and a two way bus ticket, some food, beer & bead money. That also doesnt make me rich. Barbados would be a bit of a swim though.

It would be nice to be rich though, i hope i get to do that someday, but if i dont, i dont really care much.

Good luck with your Jeep, glad you found what you wanted.

Yeah....thats what I was commenting about. Poor people, or even average people dont just cut checks for 30,000 dollar automobiles, nor do they vacation in Barbados.......

Well, sounds like he was given it. If so, /golfclap.

Must be nice. If he earned it himself, AWESOME. Enjoy. Good job.

Im tired of kids getting brand new vehicles before they are 21. Im gonna cut this rant short cuz im sick and will probably sound rude.

FYI, as long as you were on the insurance policy to begin with, you have 30 days to add the jeep to your insurance. Coverage will transfer from your old vehicle to the new one automatically.

But regardless, enjoy your new JK!!
