Hey guys, I know some Jeepers use GoPro cameras while off-roading and what not and I am looking for some advice on which camera to get. From what I've researched so far, I think I'd prefer to get the Hero 3 Silver. I am not using it for off-roading and I definitely do not need to pay an extra $100 for the Black edition. Anyways, I know a lot of you probably don't use these, but I am hoping to find some experts to give me some suggestions and preferences on which one to get.

I just bought a contour camera myself and it's great however Contour just went belly up.

Sony action cam has same specs as gopro black but at a fraction of the cost. And I bought an adapter to mount it on any gopro mount. That's why own the sony.

 

Love my go pro hero 2 and you can get the wifi adapter and download the phone apo

i have the hero 3 silver. My only complaint is when you use the wifi connection and the iPhone app to control the camera and see previews of what you are recording, the battery life is shorter.

When I use the wifi I get about 20 mins of recording before the battery is dead. Without wifi I can record a days worth of riding without need to recharge
