Going back stock
Yep! That's right. I will be removing those damn 33" tires I installed and put on some more 32's.
I can't take the load range D tires any more. Going to install some P metrics. Now I feel better.

Nah. The ride is like that of my old TJ. But it does make a difference when going to bigger tire. The bad thing is all of the 17" A/T and M/T are either load range D or E. This will make a noticable difference than the P metric tires that are equiped on JK's.

I'm think'n stayin with the standard tires for around town and I'll get some good tires and steel rims for off road. It takes what an hour to change 4 tires and toss a different spare in the back.

Since I'm thinking of going with 33 ATs, exactly what were the issues for you? I'm looking at the Dick Cepek FC-IIs. But, I need good road performance, and hate loud tires. These are supposed to be good on both counts. What exact tires were you using?

For those who have asked why I am removing my 33's let me explain why. I loved the BFG A/T I had on my TJ. So I thought I would get a set for my JK. What I failed to realize is that most tire manufactures do not make 16" or bigger tires in A/T or M/T to fit lighter vehicles, In most cases they are only offered in load range D (max psi 65) or E (max psi 80) tires. These tires are made for 3/4 ton and up vehicles. Sure you can run lower pressure but you will have poor handling as well. For example. Lower the pressure on the stock tires by half and see what happens.
Now I live in a state wiht poor roads. This also has a negative effect on the ride.
I have found a few manufactures that have P metric tires available in 33's. I will list them below.
Do not let me discourage you from installing bigger tires. Most of the people on this forum have them. I just want a better ride like I had with the stock tires.
Tires I have found in P metric.
Firestone Destination A/T P285/70r17
Bridgestone Dueler Revo A/T P285/70r17
Toyo A/T P285/70r17
Also Mastercraft and Cooper make a 32 in an aggresive a/t in a load range C size. LT275/70r17.
