I'd say something but I don't comment on threads started by "2wd"ers.

Not gonna lie my bud has a 2wd JK and he has done more hardcore stuff than I have in my 4wd JK.unless you're wanting to go hardcore mudding you really just need some grip to the rear, a locker and a winch. Don't give up on the forum, besides I'm sure if you go play with other folks they will help you in tight jams.

I'm in middle Alabama and mines a 2wd but I understand as I want 4 wd. Waiting on 2012's or maybe hang in there till 2013's are out. I carried the wife and kids out some old river roads and fire lanes (for all the liberal tree buggers those are fire breaks cut by the forestry dept) pretty damn proud how capable it was just stock.
Really how much off roading are you going to do? Snow is scarce, not to many rocks to climb, and face it in Alabama red clay a winch is a must anyway. Read most guys that have rubis have winches so say you spend the extra 10 grand for 4wd now higher payment still no winch and still stuck!

You guys saying put a winch on it must have never wheeled a 2wd once the front sinks in your done(dirt, mud, sand whatever) it acts like wheel chocks, the less weight in the front the better. And you can forget about climbing over a rock or log. I say ditch that jeep as fast as you can.
