Default Is it a good deal

Dealer offered me $19,950.00 trade-in value for my 2008 JKU Sahara, 6 speed, dual tops, custom wheels, 35inch procomXtreem(50% thread), 60,100miles. Do you think it is good or a bad deal? Buying a 2012 Rubicon.

I would swap back to the stock wheels and tires and then do it. Wheels/tires can get expensive. But overall, pretty solid offer.

Is yours paid off? Or do u still owe..... If it's paid off... I'd keep it. One disadvantage of having a new car under factory warranty is the fact they look for the littlest things to void ur warranty.

Mine "was" paid off . I took the trade and got me a 2012 Rubicon Unlimted last night. I agree with your warrenty comment. None the less I'm happy with my trade. I had bought my Sahara 4 years ago for ~28K and sold it for 20K after 60K miles and plenty of wear and tear and not to mention had Check engine light on for a Oxygen sensor.

It also depends on the overall deal. If they're buying your vehicle off of you outright whether or not you bought from them, then this doesn't sound like a bad offer. Often times though, a dealer will offer you more on the trade only to sell you the new vehicle at a higher price, or vice-versa. Sometimes they'll offer you a great deal on the new vehicle, but only if they get away with low-balling you on the trade-in.

If I was you I'd try to sell the vehicle separately. Take it to Carmax and see what they offer you for it. Carmax will buy your vehicle off of you whether you buy from them or not. They give you the same amount of cash no matter what and the offer is good for 7 days from the time of the appraisal. Only takes like 30 minutes to get done. In my case, I found that Carmax offered me more than the dealer was going to give me. I'm selling my car to Carmax and keeping my new vehicle purchase as a totally separate transaction.
